'Alex' - SOMERFORD SOUL MASTER

'Alex' is a male puppy from 'Dakota' -  Am Ch Can Ch Valmars Unanimous Decision BROM. His Dam is 'Paige' Ashlaren Xtra Paige (AI)

'Alex' is one of the happiest little weimaraners I have ever met.

He was slow to wean prefering to spend more time cuddled up to his mother I'm sure.

When this litter was small we had unseasoally hot dry weather. Some days when all the puppies were lying in the shade trying to keep cool I would take water out to them and 'Alex' was ALWAYS the first to greet me.

No matter what was happening around him 'Alex's' face would always light up and beam and his tail would wag furiously every time I appeared to see the puppies.

Amanda and Mick and their family are going to have one of the most amazingly loveable puppies that they could every wish to have in their home. I told them when they collected him that' this dog was born to love and be loved'.......

Here is what they had to say:

Hi Jim

Alex is doing really well eating well sleeping well, he only cried for a little while when we took him home.

He holds on all night and goes for wees outside when you take him. The kids just adore him and yes he is very very cute.
He is such a good boy. Plays well sits when told (with a treat help sometimes) and just curls up on the lounge with Michael when he's tired.

He's been for visits in the car and is happy doing that too.

You were absolutely right about  what you said of him. He doesnot go short of cuddles and kisses.

Thank you again.

See you soon.
Love Amanda & Michael

and an update on 24th march 2009.

Hi Jim and Danny
Just a quick report on “Alex” – Somerford Soul Weaver;

Alex is now about 18 months old and is just starting to settle from puppy stage. He loves the kids and will sit at the back step when they get home from school, waiting for them to come and play.

I have only trained him a little, as we have been very busy over the past year, but he takes to training with full vigour. He never wants to run away, which I suppose is a good sign!

I have been brought up with Weimaraners, but Alex has surprised me with his intelligence many times. I will give you a few examples:
When throwing his boomerang Alex crouches down waiting for the throw, looking around if you don’t throw it immediately and will bark if you pause too long!

Amanda’s mum has a Cavalier King Charles, Alex’s friend Jersey, who visits often.

On one occasion we were having Sunday brunch and had Alex tied up so he didn’t get to the food. Missing the action he barked until we put him on a lead and brought him closer. He then put his head down between Amanda and I on the bench and went to sleep while we ate!

After eating we let Alex off – he then proceeded to return to where he was tied up, retrieved a bone from his bowl and brought it back to near the table, where Jersey was and dropped it at her feet. He then pushed it to her – How is that for sharing!

Alex is a bit timid of water, so we take him to Coon Island at Swansea often, where he will play in the water happily, once we drag him in!

I’d better end here – will keep in touch more as work slows down.

Kind Regards

Michael
